Highlights

Your unforgettable journey begins in the exotic spice island of Zanzibar, where the turquoise waters and white sand beaches offer the perfect place to relax before your safari adventure. From there, you’ll travel to the Tanzanian mainland and dive into the heart of the wild.

Your first stop is Tarangire National Park, famous for its towering ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants. As you drive through the golden savannah, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife—zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and perhaps even the elusive leopards hiding among the trees.

Next, you'll descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders. Here, you’ll embark on game drives across the crater floor in search of the legendary Big Fivelion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros—alongside hippos wallowing in the pools and flamingos gracing the crater lake.

What is a Fly-In Fly-Out Safari?

A Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) safari involves taking small aircraft (usually bush planes) from a major airport to airstrips within or near national parks. You land near your safari lodge or camp and fly out the same way at the end of your stay.

Popular Destinations for Fly-In Safaris

  • Ngorongoro Crater – Combine with Serengeti via Manyara airstrip

  • Ruaha National Park – Remote, wild, and less crowded

  • Selous/Nyerere National Park – Southern Tanzania wilderness

  • Mahale Mountains or Katavi – Extremely remote; chimpanzee tracking

Common Departure Points

  • Arusha Airport (ARK) – Main hub for northern circuit safaris

  • Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) – Gateway to southern circuit and western Tanzania

  • Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) – Northern Tanzania access
